Craft Quickie

Today I learned how much of a procrastinator I can be. At the beginning of the day I told myself "Meagan, you've got the whole afternoon to yourself to create new things and show everyone!" and instead, I watched Boy Meets World and fiddled with my blog. It got to be around 7:00 before I realized I hadn't done anything I planned to do today.
I started working on a Christmas present idea that I have for a few family members, but I ended up hitting a couple roadblocks. While I'm re-working that plan, I decided to give you a craft quickie! I got this idea from the amazing Jen at 586 Square Feet. She did a post about glitterizing votive holders. I don't have double-sided tape, so I used what I had available, which was my Krylon spray adhesive. I think it worked out pretty nicely.

Materials:
glitter, adhesive, votive holder.
From there, it's pretty simple. spray the adhesive on the votive, shake some glitter on it, and let it dry. Here's what mine looks like with red glitter:

After the adhesive dried and the glitter set, I popped in a tea candle and turned off the lights. It looks great!
What do you think?

Oh, and I almost forgot your Daily Dose....
I have been obsessed with watching this vlogger's youtube videos. He is a German DJ named Flula Borg who posts videos about American customs and phrases he doesn't understand. His rants are nothing short of HILARIOUS. Here's one for you.

The Bear

To anyone who actually reads this blog, thank you! I really appreciate it. This has become a great way to express myself and the things I enjoy, and I've become so much more motivated to create rather than sit on my butt all day. I still haven't had a chance to stop by the craft store for a couple supplies, so since I'm lacking a craft tutorial and the energy, I will give you a little story and some pictures of yours truly.
As I mentioned in a previous post, Shane and I are working together at our local school district. A week or two ago, we were walking back to our work room from break, and Shane and I noticed a giant stuffed bear sitting just outside our doorway. Everytime we see the bear, he has been moved and something has been added to him. I NEVER see anyone else near the bear, so i am convinced this is some Toy Story shit and he's having his own adventures. So of course, I do what I always do...grab my camera, and get a picture (or in this case, make Shane take one for me). Enjoy!
The Bear starts off lonely, with nothing to his name but a
piece of paper containing a Helen Keller quote.

the next day he decided to do some public speaking.
I'm sure he's a crowd-pleaser.

we both look like we've had a hard night out.
although he's enjoying it more.

MMMMM, PENCILS.

the last we've seen of The Bear. someone half-heartedly added
what looks like a frisbee and something called
a "Resource Guide".

Now, for your Daily Dose:
This one was purely nostalgic, it's Salad Fingers.
I'm also adding a rough sketch of Salad Fingers that will eventually be a finished painting (that is, whenever I finally get around to it...). Let me know what you think!

The Daily Dose

I haven't had much time for blogging for the last couple days, but I have a few more craft tutorials coming your way before the end of the week, I promise! I just need to make a trip to the craft store first!
Anyway, here are a couple beaded necklaces I whipped up last night while indulging on DWTS.

And here is your daily dose! I saw this video a week or two ago, in fact I may have found it on Reddit. Anywho, it's a dubstep video, so those who dislike dubstep, turn the sound off. The video itself is the best part.

The Daily Dose

Many of you have probably already seen this or heard of this girl, but if you haven't, you're missing out. This is Drew Tabor, and her acoustic version of "Super Bass" by Nicki Minaj. Enjoy!
